2002 Nissan Altima Oil Capacity

The 2002 Nissan Altima’s listed engine-oil capacity is 4.2 qt with the QR25DE engine and 4.4 qt with the VQ35DE engine; both use 5W-30 oil. The capacity depends on which engine is installed, so use the matching entry rather than treating the figures as one amount for every Altima.

Read each capacity as the listed oil amount for that engine, and read 5W-30 as the specified oil grade. The VQ35DE entry appears twice with the same capacity and grade, so it does not indicate a different amount. These figures are for the listed 2002 engine options; confirm the correct engine for your car before choosing an amount.

The facts do not say whether the capacity includes an oil-filter change or provide a separate refill quantity. If you need a figure for a particular service, or cannot identify your engine, confirm it on the door jamb or in the owner’s manual.
